Welcome to the Division of Research and Development,
Research and Development Division is a new division of TEFLIN. It is established by the TEFLIN Board 2021-2024 under the presidency of Prof. Utami Widiati, PhD. This establishment reflects the urgency of research and development in the present development of English language teaching (ELT), whether at national or international level. ELT issues in the era of IR 4.0 and Society 5.0 are getting more and more complicated, such as the massive flood of information, more dominant use of technology, the demand on more high-and multi skilled workforces, and values and characters inculcation. ELT profession is challenged to prepare prospective teachers who are not only competent in language, pedagogical, and technological skills, but also those who are able to become role models in implementing lifelong learning. Those challenges can be anticipated, among others, through having ample and valid information as the basis for making decisions, and this can be done through research and development programs.
The Research and Development Division has two programs for the next three years. The first is the standardization of Indonesian English teacher competence, while the second is the establishment of Professional Certification Agency (PCA). In the first program, an instrument to measure Indonesian English teacher competence will be developed and validated. Then, it will be used to measure Indonesian English teacher competence all over Indonesia. With this measurement at hand, TEFLIN will have the profile and map of Indonesian English teacher competence, which will become invaluable information for both academics and policy makers. The second program is pursued to anticipate the era of multi and broad skills required by the workforces in the 21st Century. Prospective teachers graduated from teacher-training universities will have a better future when they are equipped with certificates of competencies whether in teaching and non-teaching areas. Prospective teachers with multi micro-credential certificates will be more globally competitive. PCA will design and serve the certification such as materials design, test development, classroom language, public speaking, translation, interpreting, and so on. PCA can also develop online courses in MOOC format that can be taken by both students and public

Welcome to the TEFLIN Publication Division webpage. The division is a unit of TEFLIN that has been responsible for the publication of TEFLIN Journal since the establishment of the association. TEFLIN Journal has been indexed in Scopus since 2018 as well as other international databases, and we are continuously working towards increasing the visibility, quality, and impact of the journal through various development plans. We would be happy to welcome quality submissions to the journal. Kindly check this website, https://journal.teflin.org for more information on TEFLIN Journal.
In addition to TEFLIN Journal, TEFLIN Publication Division has also recently published the TEFLIN Teacher Development Series showcasing the insightful ideas of a number of established scholars on various ELT-related topics to support English teachers’ professional development. The series includes the writings of Brian Tomlinson, Rod Ellis, Willy A. Renandya, George Jacobs, Eun Sung Park, Helena Agustien, Icy Lee, Flora Debora Floris, Nguyen Thi Thuy Minh, and Le Van Canh. Most of the books in the series are free to download from the TEFLIN website, https://teflin.org
Currently, the Publication Division is working closely with the Division of Teacher Professional Development on the preparation of a professionally-oriented journal, TEFLIN Voices, to better cater for the professional needs of English teachers throughout the country and beyond. This journal is set to accommodate the needs of the English teachers across the archipelago for publications which are accessible to them both as writers and readers in view of improved quality of English teaching and learning activities.
We hope our initiatives to bring together and galvanize the expertise from different divisions (and chapters) of the association add to the benefits we can share to the society. Let us know if you have any ideas for the betterment and augmentation of our services; we welcome your input.

Welcome to the Division of Evaluation,
Let me share some information about our Division. As one of the divisions TEFLIN has, the Division of Evaluation serves the function of developing evaluation related to EFL learning and teaching matters. This Division is responsible for the construction of evaluation instruments, that include assessment and testing instruments, and for the dissemination of information on assessment and evaluation in the community of EFL teachers.
Since 2013, this Division has made a considerable achievement, especially in providing testing expertise necessary for constructing listening and reading tests. Eight test forms were successfully constructed and already used by 121,094 test takers (lecturers and postgraduate students). The other eight test forms will be tried out as soon as the pandemic is over.
Another activity conducted in September-October 2021 was community service training for teachers of English in the area of assessment (for/as/of), which was carried out in conjunction with the training of text-based teaching. In this was the assessment matters were learned in real context.
We take a two-way learning development or improvement strategy. We welcome experts who wish to share their (English language) assessment expertise and we are ready to help anyone who wants to improve his/her assessment skills.

Greetings from Teacher Professional Development Division,
Welcome, all teachers around Indonesia. We are Teachers Professional Development Division, and you are in the right place to develop your capacity and competence in becoming a professional teacher. We provide some programs for sustaining teachers’ development in teaching and learning areas.
The program aims to update teachers’ knowledge of English subjects in light of recent advances in the area, to update teachers’ skills, attitudes, and approaches in light of the development of new teaching techniques and objectives in ELT ( English Language Teaching). It gives new circumstances, and new educational research focus in ELT to enable teachers to apply changes made to curricula or other aspects of English teaching practice. We also provide schools to develop and apply new strategies concerning the English curriculum and other aspects of English teaching practice, exchange information and expertise among English teachers and others, and help English teachers become more effective.
We welcome you to join and participate in Teachers Professional Development programs.
