Dear Fellow EFL Educators,
If you are looking for an organization where you can network and develop professionally as EFL educators, we are here for you. TEFLIN Jawa Tengah Chapter has Whatsapp and Telegram groups which connect you with over one thousand English teachers all over Jawa Tengah. Through the groups we share information on the relevant professional development events available in the region. You may also want to share your ideas and thoughts for discussion as well as information on relevant professional development events.
TEFLIN Jawa Tengah Chapter offers at least 2 professional development events a year. We have a bi-annual national conference in collaboration with the English Department of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). In this conference, we invite well-known scholars from Indonesia and overseas to speak as plenary speakers and share the current trends and practices in the teaching of English. The conference also gives opportunities to English teachers and lecturers to give presentations in the parallel sessions. Here you can share your experiences, research findings, and best practices in the teaching of English as a foreign language in Indonesian context.
We also offer more practical workshops for teachers. These workshops usually address specific topics like how to engage learners in English class, or more specifically in Speaking or Writing class; how to teach grammar through games, how to do assessment, how to apply cooperative learning techniques in English class, etc. Before planning the workshops, we usually do survey to find out what the teachers really need and what they are mostly interested in. Most of the workshops that we offer you are free of charge or subsidized.
We also welcome cooperation with universities, schools, and learning communities (MGMP) for organizing professional development events like seminar/webinar and training/worksops. These universities, schools, and learning communities may host the events and we will assist you with the planning as well as execution of the program, including inviting the suitable speakers or workshop facilitators.
