TEFLIN PKGBI organized a professional development program on Understanding the TKA English Assessment Framework, bringing together experienced English language educators and academics from leading universities in Riau. The program was coordinated by Dr. Kurniawan, M.Pd. of Universitas Lancang Kuning, with Dr. Abdul Hadi, M.A., Ph.D. (UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau), Prof. Dr. Erni, M.Hum. (Universitas Riau), Dr. Khulaifiyah, S.Pd., M.Pd. (Universitas Islam Riau), and Dr. Nur Aisyah Zulkifli, M.Pd. (UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau) serving as speakers and facilitators. Held on 14 July 2026 at the Postgraduate Building of UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, Pekanbaru, the program was attended by 30 English teachers, lecturers, and university students from Riau and was officially opened by Prof. Utami Widiati, Ph.D., President of TEFLIN.

The program focused on the TKA English assessment framework, including the rationale and role of standardized academic assessment, TKA item formats, English reading assessment, text types and communication contexts, and strategies for improving learning quality. The TKA English framework assesses students’ ability to read various English texts in everyday, vocational, and academic contexts, covering descriptive, recount, narrative, procedure, and analytical exposition texts. The framework also aligns text complexity with the CEFR B1 level and emphasizes three major competencies: textual comprehension, inferential comprehension, and evaluation and appreciation.

TEFLIN PKGBI continues to support English educators through professional development, assessment literacy, and evidence-informed teaching practices to strengthen the quality of English language education in Indonesia.
