TEFLIN Lampung–Bengkulu successfully held a Pengembangan Kompetensi Guru Bahasa Inggris (PKGBI) workshop on July 23, 2026, at the 3rd Floor of the Rectorate Building, Universitas Muhammadiyah Pringsewu Lampung. The workshop carried the theme “Sosialisasi dan Pembekalan TKA Bahasa Inggris 2026” and was conducted from 08.00 to 16.00 WIB. The program was coordinated by Dr. Dedi Turmudi, M.A. TESOL, with Kurniati, M.Pd. serving as the chair of the organizing committee.
The professional development activity was organized as part of TEFLIN’s commitment to strengthening English teachers’ capacity in responding to current developments in national academic assessment. In particular, the workshop provided socialization and briefing related to TKA Bahasa Inggris 2026, helping participants understand the assessment context and consider its implications for English teaching and assessment practices.
The event brought together 63 participant entries recorded in the offline attendance list. Participants came from a range of schools and higher education institutions in Lampung, including institutions in Pringsewu, Metro, Lampung Utara, and surrounding areas. The participant list also included representatives from Universitas Muhammadiyah Pringsewu, Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro, UIN Raden Intan Lampung, Universitas Ma’arif Lampung, senior high schools, vocational schools, and other educational institutions.
The program featured resource persons from several educational institutions. They included Dr. Dedi Turmudi, M.A. TESOL from Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro; Dr. Seftika, M.Pd. from Universitas Muhammadiyah Pringsewu Lampung; Widiani Trisnaningsih, S.Pd., M.Pd. from SMKN 3 Metro; and Yulan Puspita Rini, M.A. from UIN Raden Intan.
Throughout the one-day program, participants engaged in the main activities of socialization and briefing on TKA Bahasa Inggris 2026. The workshop also provided a forum for educators from different institutions to meet, exchange perspectives, and strengthen professional networks. The diversity of participant backgrounds enriched the discussion and connected assessment issues with real teaching contexts.
The activity produced several important outputs: the successful implementation of the PKGBI program, the dissemination of information and briefing related to TKA Bahasa Inggris 2026, participant and resource-person documentation, and an administrative and financial accountability report. Future programs are recommended to include structured follow-up activities, further professional development, and systematic documentation of participants’ learning outcomes.
The workshop reflects TEFLIN Lampung–Bengkulu’s continuing effort to support English teachers and strengthen their professional capacity in facing changes in educational assessment. Through sustained collaboration among teachers, schools, universities, and TEFLIN, similar programs can contribute to more informed and responsive English teaching practices.
