The English Education Study Program of the Faculty of Languages and Arts at Universitas Negeri Semarang, in collaboration with the TEFLIN Central Java Chapter, will organize the 8th UNNES–TEFLIN Online National Conference. The conference aims to provide a forum for scholars, researchers, teachers, and practitioners to share ideas and discuss current developments in English Language Teaching (ELT). This year’s conference carries the theme “Innovations, Research, and Practices in ELT for Sustainable Development”. The event seeks to highlight innovative research and practical approaches that contribute to sustainable development in ELT contexts.

The conference will feature several distinguished speakers. The keynote speaker is Prof. Dra. Utami Widiati, M.A., Ph.D., President of TEFLIN and a lecturer and researcher at Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia. Other invited speakers include Intan Permata Hapsari, S.Pd., M.Pd., Ph.D., lecturer and researcher at Universitas Negeri Semarang, Indonesia; Dr. Artemio Cortez Ochoa, M.Ed., Ph.D., lecturer and researcher at the University of Bath, United Kingdom; and Dr. HC Aslam Khan Bin Samahs Khan, Academic Director and Vice Chairman of ERICAN Education Group as well as Vice President of the National Association of Private Educational Institutions (NAPEI) Malaysia.

The conference will be held on Saturday, 16 May 2026, and will take place online via Zoom Meeting. Participants are invited to attend the conference either as presenters or non-presenting participants. The registration fee is IDR 100,000 for participants and IDR 250,000 for presenters.

The conference also offers publication opportunities. All accepted papers will be included in the UNNES Conference Proceedings. Selected papers may also be considered for publication in ELT Forum (Sinta 3) and Language Circle (Sinta 3), subject to the applicable article processing charges (APC).
