Attending the 71st TEFLIN International Conference has been an eye-opening experience that perfectly complements my journey as an educator exploring the meaningful integration of technology in language learning. The theme “Reimagining English Language Education in the Age of AI and Digital Transformation: Integrating Inclusive Education and Cultural Diversity” strongly resonates with my teaching philosophy and the ideas I shared in my Teacher Award essay, where I reflected on how technology, cognition, social interaction, and values intersect in shaping both teaching and learning.

The featured sessions such as “Global Englished in the Age of AI: Prospects for a Paradigm Shift in English Education” and “AI and Employability: Building Internationally Confident Graduates in Indonesia” reaffirmed my belief that the digital era not only opens new opportunities but also calls for a broader set of learner competencies. English today functions as a global lingua franca, and preparing learners means going beyond linguistic mastery by nurturing critical, analytical, intercultural, and professional communication skills that ensure employability and adaptability in a borderless world.

These insights align with my reflection that technology not only influences how learners think and learn, but learners’ ways of thinking also shape how they use technology. This dynamic relationship, which shapes the future of education, was something I explored in my essay and witnessed vividly throughout the conference sessions. After attending TEFLIN, this understanding has deepened. Effective integration of AI in ELT requires reflective and collaborative pedagogy across all aspects of the ELT ecology.

Beyond academic insights, TEFLIN provided a vibrant space to connect with inspiring educators, exchange innovative ideas, and explore potential collaborations that contribute to the growing body of knowledge in English language education. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and inspired to continue improving my professional and pedagogical competence, designing learning experiences that empower students to become autonomous, confident, and globally competent learners. I also hope to further develop my research skills and contribute more actively to the TEFLIN community in the future.
