On September 24, 2025, the Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Medan, successfully hosted the International Seminar of Languages, Arts, and Literature Education (ISLALE 2025) in a blended format, combining onsite and online participation. The seminar served as an international academic platform for educators, researchers, and practitioners to exchange ideas and innovations in the fields of language, arts, and literature education.

One of the keynote speakers, Prof. Dr. Utami Widiati, M.A., Ph.D., President of TEFLIN, delivered her keynote presentation virtually, sharing valuable insights on “Transformative Pedagogies and Teacher Professional Development in the Era of AI and Globalization.” Her presentation highlighted the importance of integrating technology, reflective practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance educational quality in the digital era.

In addition to Prof. Utami’s inspiring session, ISLALE 2025 also featured presentations from teacher mentored by TEFLIN North Sumatera Chapter, who shared their innovative classroom practices and research findings. Their participation reflected the ongoing professional development efforts and strong collaboration between TEFLIN and local educators in advancing English language education.

The seminar included distinguished speakers from national and international universities discussing creative pedagogy, intercultural communication, digital literacy, and literary innovation. The discussions fostered academic exchange, inspired collaborative research, and strengthened professional networks among participants.

ISLALE 2025 reaffirmed the Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Medan’s commitment to promoting innovation, creativity, and international collaboration in education and research, while continuing to empower teachers and researchers through sustainable professional development.
