The 1^st Mahakam International Seminar in ELT

The undeniable presence of technology has significantly facilitated all aspects of human life, including the realm of education. Therefore, educators and teachers are expected to possess a higher level of technological literacy in order to effectively integrate technology into their instructional practices. Further, the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) stands out as a profoundly transformative technique in the realm of technological advancement and is currently experiencing significant growth. How might artificial intelligence (AI) assist to the facilitation of teaching? What are the advantages or benefits? Are there any drawbacks or disadvantages associated with this? In order to address these inquiries and to honor the occasion of Teachers’ Day, TEFLIN for Kalimantan Timur Chapter, in conjunction with five universities in Kalimantan Timur presented a two-day international webinar under the name The 1^st Mahakam International Seminar in ELT (MISELT) with the theme The Future of AI in ELT: Opportunities and Challenges.
