The 5th UNNES-TEFLIN National Conference is a highly anticipated biennial event organized by the Department of English, Faculty of Languages and Arts at Universitas Negeri Semarang, in collaboration with TEFLIN Central Java Chapter (the Association for the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language in Indonesia for the Central Java region). With the emergence of post-pandemic challenges in learning, the conference is dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by teachers in teaching a second or foreign language (L2).
Under the theme Coping with Current Challenges in EFL Teaching, the conference aims to provide a platform for EFL/ELT/L2 teachers, researchers, scholars, students, and other key stakeholders to present and discuss their latest and best findings, innovations, and best practices. The conference will showcase fresh ideas and approaches and is not limited to the listed sub-themes. This is a great opportunity for professionals and stakeholders in the field to exchange ideas and learn from one another, contributing to the advancement of EFL teaching and learning.

The conference, which is slated to take place online through Zoom Meeting on Saturday, July 15, 2023, will feature a panel of well-known authorities in each of their specialized domains. Dr. Raqib Chowdhury from Monash University, Australia, Dr. Siti Zaidah Zainuddin from the Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, Prof. Lies Amin Lestari from Universitas Negeri Surabaya, Indonesia, and Prof. Yazid Basthomi from Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia are among the eminent speakers invited to the conference. Each speaker will offer a lot of knowledge and experience to the conference, and their ideas will undoubtedly add significantly to the theme.
