TEFLIN for East Kalimantan Chapter conducted a national seminar virtually on December 1st, 2022. The seminar discussed the link between theories, practices, and technology by introducing 3 speakers from partner universities, namely Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur (UMKT), Universitas Kutai Kartanegara Tenggarong (Unikarta) and UIN Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris Samarinda (UINSI Samarinda). In addition, a TEFLIN board member, Dr. Nur Arifah Drajati, was also invited as a keynote speaker in that event. The event itself was conducted online via Zoom Meeting and was attended by more than 300 participants from all over Indonesia. TEFLIN Vice President, Prof. M. Zaim while delivering his speech expected that such events are supposed to be conducted regularly by TEFLIN by collaborating with partner universities in order to improve teachers’ competency by picking up topics that are relevant to today’s ELT. He also expected that by conducting such events, more ELT teachers will recognize and join TEFLIN as a member, so TEFLIN will grow bigger and bigger.
