TEFLIN in collaboration with Clarity English has conducted a Professional Development Program Webinar on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 15:30 WIB. The webinar coordinated by the Bali, NTB and NTT Chapter of TEFLIN. It presented three speakers whose expertise are in language teaching with two different topics. The first topic, “Making Digital Resources Work Hard for Our Students”, was presented by Andrew Stokes, M.A. and Adrian Raper, Ph.D. from Clarity English–HK. The second topic, “Revisiting Meaningful Learning Using Technology in Emergency Remote Teaching” was presented by Made Heri Santosa, Ph.D. from Ganesha State University of Education, Bali.
The webinar which lasted for 2 hours was joined by more than 2000 participants from many provinces in Indonesia, even from abroad. This webinar received an extraordinary responses due to the topic raised was very relevant to the learning situation during the Covid-19 pandemic. Many problems and obstacles are happening since learning activities have to be carried out online. This webinar provides solutions for solving these problems. Some of the solutions offered by the speakers are about platforms that can be used for online teaching, things to consider when carrying out online learning and how to design good online learning. The participants were very enthusiastic and very hopeful that a similar webinar be held in the near future.
