The 65th TEFLIN International Conference was hosted by Universitas Negeri Makassar, Sulawesi, Indonesia. It was held on July 12, 13, 14 2018. The conference invited a keynote speaker from Universitas Negeri Makassar, Indonesia: Prof. Asfah Rahman, M.Ed., Ph.D., and several prominent plenary speakers: Prof. Amy Tsui (University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong), Assoc. Prof. Handoyo Puji Widodo (Shantou University, China), Assoc. Prof. Elizabeth M. Ellis (University of England Australia), Assoc. Prof. Rita Elaine Silver (NIE Singapore), Amirullah Abduh, S.Pd., M.Ed., Ph.D (Universitas Negeri Makassar, Indonesia), Astuti Aziz, S.Pd., M.Ed., Ph.D (Education Department Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia).
The conference takes on the theme “Sustainable Teacher Professional Development in English Language Education: Where Theory, Practice, and Policy Meet” with the following subthemes: Current issues and trends in English linguistics, applied linguistics, literature, and language teaching, learning and assessment.
