The 63rd TEFLIN International conference was hosted by University of PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya. It was held on September 8, 9, 10 2016. The conference invited a keynote speaker from University of Sydney, Australia: Prof. Jack C. Richards , and several plenary speakers: Prof. Kathleen Graves (University of Michigan, USA), Dr. Lindsay Miller (City University of Hong Kong), Christine C.M. Goh, Ph.D (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), Dr. John Walsh (University of Adelaide, Australia), Dr. Nigel Hardwood (University of Sheffield, UK), Handoyo Puji Widodo, Ph.D (State Polytechnic of Jember, Indonesia), Joseph Ernest Mambu, Ph.D (Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga), Made Hery Santosa, Ph.D (Ganesha University of Education, Bali), Dra. Wahju Bandjarjani, M.Pd., (University of PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya).
The conference takes on the theme “Creativity and Innovation in Language Materials Development and Language Teaching Methodology in Asia and Beyond” with the following key issues:

- How do language learners benefit from using these materials?
