The 58th TEFLIN International conference was hosted by English Education Department, Faculty of Language and Arts, EducationTeacher Training Institute (IKIP PGRI Semarang. It was held on November 3, 4, 5, 2011. The conference invited a keynote speaker from University of Wolonggong, Australia Prof. Beverly Derewianka, Ph.D, and several prominent plenary speakers: Prof. Helen Borland, Ph.D (Australia), Prof. Nobuyuki Honna, Ph.D (Japan), Prof. E. Sadtono, Ph.D (Indonesia), Alexander Argulles, Ph.D (RELC Singapore), Helen I.R. Agustien, Ph.D (Indonesia), Melchor Tatlonghari, Ph.D (Philippine), Lance Knowles (USA), Prof. Charles Hancock, Ph.D (USA). The conference takes on the theme “Language Teaching and Character Building” with the following subthemes:
